On 18th of April 2013 in Osijek, Croatia, the PGF (Project Generation Facility) Regional partner meeting was held, with the purpose of defining a new MtM (Making the Most of EU Funds for Roma) mid-term strategic thinking.
The meeting was attended by the representatives from the national implementation organizations from Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Croatia, as well as the representatives from the Open Society Institute (OSI) Budapest, as a program donor.
At the first part of the meeting the participants discussed about the eventual needs for conceptual and operational adjustments of the program and defining common, regional and country specific deliverables during 2013.
The present participants shared their experiences about the problems they faced during the program implementation and gave their suggestions for methodology modifications in direction of solving them. This will contribute towards improving the quality of the program realization and enabling a stable service delivery, compatible with the priority needs of the Roma community.
The participants discussed about their strategic thinking about the future actions which should be undertaken on national and regional level for better advocacy of the interests of the Roma inhabitants in the four countries, for increasing and provide sustainable social inclusion, strengthening the capacities for and participation in the development processes.
MtM is an initiative of the Open Society Institute, Budapest. Their national partners in Macedonia are MCIC and InSoC. MtM strives to connect the stetted goals for Roma social inclusion with the EU development resources, as well as with the national governments, with the needs of the Roma population.
Aleksandar Krzalovski and Valentina Chicheva from MCIC and Samet Skenderi from InSoC, attended this meeting as the Macedonian representatives.
