Sixteen participants from the Roma organizations (Bairska svetlina, Bitola, Mesecina, Gostivar, Ternipe, Delcevo, Sumnal and Ambrela, Skopje and Association for multicultural society and human rights, Stip) on 13 and 14 February 2013 attended the Workshop for preparing project proposals, which will be submitted to the Government of Republic of Macedonia (Unit for cooperation of the Government with NGOs).
“I consider that this training was useful. As a result of the previous training, delivered last year by MCIC and InSoC, my organization prepared a project which was granted by the Unit for cooperation of the Government with NGOs” said Mr. Saip Iseni from the Association for Roma community development “Sumnal” from Skopje. According to Mr. Iseni, this trainings should be delivered regularly, because they are very helpful for the organizations which applied for funds.
The representatives from the Civic Society organization “Umbrella” from Skopje, are satisfied from the workshop, too: “The workshop contributes towards empowering the organizations and increasing their self-confidence in the process of preparing project proposals. We hope that holding this workshops will become a regular practice, because the way of working here is interesting and motivating”, said Mr. Ervin Sikovski from “Umbrella”, Skopje.
At the workshop, the project ideas of the present organizations were developed into the project proposals. Also, the participants were provided with the instructions for completing the whole documentation need for applying. The participants prepared 6 (six) project proposals.
This initiative was realized in the frame of the program Project Generation Facility-PGF Macedonia, financed by the Open Society Institute, Budapest, which contributes towards building the capacity of Roma in Macedonia, for their sustainable inclusion in the society. The workshop was facilitated by Valentina Chicheva from MCIC and Samet Skenderi from InSoC.
