New skills for project proposal development

Twenty-two participants, representatives from the municipality administrations of Suto Orizari, Debar and Kumanovo, Roma informative centres from Suto Orizari and Kumanovo and the representatives from the Roma organizations Drom-Kumanovo, Mesecina-Debar and RBIC-Suto Orizari, on 30 July-01 August 2014 in Skopje attended the Training for preparing project proposals for sustainable social inclusion of the Roma in Macedonia.

“I hope that this Training for preparing project proposals will contribute towards achieving the results for social inclusion of the Roma people within the Macedonian society. You helped us, on the level of our municipality to form an excellent team consisted of Roma SCO, Roma informative center, municipality administration and the teachers from the schools attended by the Roma pupils. I hope that all of us together, will succeed to prepare a successful project for Roma benefits. Compliments for the trainers Valentina and Biljana, who delivered the training very professional, unselfishly transferring not just the theory but also their practical experiences in the project preparing process”, said Ms. Cvetanka Arsic, counselor in the Department for environmental protection in municipality of Kumanovo.

“It was a contentment being participants on this training, afforded by MCIC to learn how to prepare project proposals with mutual efforts of the municipality administration and the Roma non-governmental sector. The trainers succeed to transfer us their knowledge, and working in groups after their theoretical input, helped us a lot in the process of practical acquiring of this subject” considered Debar’s participants Mr. Edmond Amiti, Mr. Fisnik Misna, Mr. Bekim Krliu and Mr. Urim Kurtisi.

“Really useful training, which, I hope will not be the last one. This type of training courses for preparing project proposals afford clarification of many obscurities about the application process for IPA Funds to EU and other donors funds, and really contribute towards Roma project generation facility” said Mr. Ekrem Iljaz, representative of the Suto Orizari municipality administration.

This training was implemented in the frame of the initiative “Local Development Municipal Initiatives-LDMI, Macedonia”, supported by Open Society Foundations and conducted by MCIC in partnership with InSoC. Within this initiative MCIC contributes towards capacity building of the municipality administrations for increased and sustainable social inclusion and participation in development processes of the Roma people in Macedonia.
