Title: Free Legal Aid Services for Roma
Location: Roma communities in 7 cities: Skopje, Kumanovo, Stip, Strumica, Berovo, Kocani, and Vinica
Description: Promotion of Roma access to institutions and institutional and legal mechanisms for social protection, and protection of human and civil rights.
Activities: Documentation of cases of impeded access to institutions and critical legal challenges; Analysis of legal mechanisms and current challenges, and provision of recommendations for improved access of Roma; Survey of the general Roma population of obstacles in access to institutions; Regular provision of office based legal services in a variety of areas (general legal services [help with forms, templates, etc.]; Social protection, health, education, housing, consumer rights, anti-discrimination,equal rights, etc.; Help with referrals to competent institutions; communication with institutions on behalf of beneficiaries; Field outreach and home visits by legal councillors; Identification and equipping of premises, printing and dissemination of leaflets to promote the free legal service offices field outreach to promote the free legal aid services; Selection of candidates for legal councillors (public ad and a competitive selection process); Organization of 4 two-day trainings on legal needs and services in different areas.
