BBI Consortium provides technical support for the implementation of the project Support for the Implementation of the Roma Strategy, funded by the instrument for pre-accession assistance (IPA) programme from 2007 of the European Union.
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the co-ordination structures for implementing the National Strategy for Roma and the Decade for Roma Inclusion 2005-2015, in view to contribute to improvement of the situation of Roma in the country.

Within this project on 8th November 2011 a call for proposals was launched for financial support for implementation of the Local Action Plans. This call was designed for municipalities that have developed Local Action Plans for implementation of the Roma Strategy and the priorities of Decade for Roma Inclusion.
The purpose of this funding is to support the implementing of the identified priorities within LAP's – through funding of the local measures that are part of the action plans. The financial support for each of the project idea within this scheme must be less than following maximum amount: maximal amount 3000 Euro. It is estimated that 15-20 suggested local measures (project ideas) will be funded in the framework of this financial support. A municipality may submit one project idea for each of the mentioned deadlines.
The beneficiaries are municipalities that currently have at least one local action plan for Roma people adopted by the municipality council within the Roma Decade. According to the findings of the LAP's, the following 14 municipalities are targeted: Bitola, Delchevo, Gostivar, Kochani, Kriva Palanka, Kumanovo, Prilep, Probishtip, Rankovce, Shtip, Shuto Orizari, Tetovo, Veles, Vinica.
Within this call consultation process during the creation of the project ideas by the PRF – Service Providers is planned. The PRF consultants; from the initiative 'Making the most of EU funds for Roma will support the municipalities in the process of identification and developing their local measures targeting Roma. This support will be provided by their donors - Foundation Open Society, Budapest. These experts will approach the municipalities in the period after publishing the call, but before submitting the identified local measures.
